In recent years, natural product–based compounds have gained significant attention in medicinal chemistry due to their diverse biological activities. In the present study, a novel compound was synthesized by combining dibenzalacetone with the plant extract of Lawsonia inermis through a green synthesis approach. The synthesized compound was successfully characterized using spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR and UV–Visible spectroscopy, confirming the presence of key functional groups and extended conjugation. The biological potential of the compound was evaluated through in-vitro anticancer studies using the MTT assay against cancer cell lines. The results demonstrated a dose-dependent cytotoxic effect, with a notable reduction in cell viability and an IC₅₀ value indicating significant anticancer activity. The enhanced bioactivity may be attributed to the synergistic effect of the dibenzalacetone framework and bioactive phytochemicals such as lawsone present in Lawsonia inermis. Overall, the study suggests that the synthesized compound is a promising candidate for further investigation in anticancer drug development and pharmaceutical applications.
