Tomato leaf curl disease, caused by Tomato leaf curl virus, is one of the most destructive diseases of tomato,
causing significant yield and economic losses to growers. Various methods have been developed for the
management of the disease, but host plant resistance is the most effective and economical. Therefore, a field
experiment was conducted to evaluate some tomato genotypes at Horticulture Instruction cum Research Farm,
College of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The main objective of the experiment was to identify
tomato genotypes showing resistance against tomato leaf curl disease (ToLCD). In both years, among all the
genotypes evaluated, none was found to be a resistant genotype. However, one genotype (2015/ToLCVRES-5)
was moderately resistant, two (2015/ToLCVRES-1 and 2015/ToLCVRES-4) were moderately susceptible, and
the remaining four (2015/ToLCVRES-2, 2015/ToLCVRES-3, H-24 and Punjab Chhuhara) were susceptible to
ToLCD.
