The present study compared the effects of maxillary anterior intrusion using two mini-implants and four mini implants on root resorption and posterior dentoalveolar changes using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Ten patients with deep bite were randomly divided into two groups of five subjects each. CBCT scans obtained before and after treatment were used to evaluate incisor intrusion, root resorption, anchorage loss, and molar rotation. Both treatment protocols achieved significant anterior intrusion. The four mini-implant group demonstrated better anchorage control and greater intrusion, whereas the two mini-implant group exhibited greater molar rotation. Root resorption was significantly higher in the four mini-implant group. Within the limitations of the study, both treatment approaches were effective; however, the four mini-implant configuration provided superior biomechanical control despite a higher degree of root resorption.
