Abstract

The objective of the present study was to study the effect of polymer on the sustained release of Tofacitinib Citrate from tablets. Compatibility was studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and UV-Visible spectroscopy. The tablets were prepare using the wet granulation method using HPMC K4M and Xanthan gum. The prepared matrix tablets were evaluate for their physicochemical parameters such as weight variation, hardness, thickness, friability, content uniformity, and in-vitro dissolution. Both pre-compression and post-compression parameters were evaluated, and all were found to be within the acceptable range. The drug release data were subjected to different models to evaluate the kinetic mechanism of drug release. Formulation (F-3), F-6), (F-9) were selected as best formulation as they sustained their drug release.
