Abstract

Mobile banking, fintech platforms and digital credit are driving Digital Financial Inclusion (DFI) to boost agricultural finance and rural livelihoods. The study followed a systematic review approach with the PRISMA protocol, bibliometric analysis and the TCCM approach in the field of agriculture DFI research. A total of 67 articles Scopus-indexed, published from 2021–2026 were analysed. Findings show significant research activity, especially since 2022, driven by India, China, the United States, and Indonesia. Key themes include financial inclusion, mobile banking and rural finance, sustainability. Digital illiteracy, lack of infrastructure, cybersecurity threats, gender disparity and regulatory fragmentation are the main barriers highlighted. The review also identifies gaps regarding impact assessment, gendered access and policy-oriented inquiry, emphasising the need for inclusive, resilient and technology-enabled agricultural financial inclusion.
