Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate neonatal, immunological, and maternal outcomes related to subchorionic haemorrhage (SCH) during pregnancy and to investigate the impact of presentation timing throughout trimesters on pregnancy outcomes. An observational study was undertaken in a hospital setting with 105 pregnant women diagnosed with subchorionic haemorrhage. Maternal socio-demographic attributes, obstetric history, pregnancy trimester, body mass index, and gestational age upon presentation are noted. Immunological and coagulation indicators were evaluated to investigate their correlation with vaginal haemorrhage. Maternal outcomes, including preterm birth, rupture of the membranes, hypertensive disorders, miscarriage, and delivery technique, have been examined. Birth weight, Apgar scores, as well as NICU hospitalisation, were among the neonatal outcomes that have been assessed. The results revealed that SCH is more common among multigravida women and women who are pregnant during the early to mid-pregnancy stage. The results on maternal health revealed high incidences of adverse effects such as miscarriages, hypertension, premature births, and a high incidence of C-section deliveries. Immunological markers indicated minimal autoimmune positivity, suggesting a reduced role for immune-mediated processes. Neonatal outcomes are predominantly positive, although a subgroup of neonates necessitated specialised care. The study suggests that subchorionic haemorrhage correlates with heightened maternal and neonatal risk. Pregnancy outcomes vary according to the trimester in which they occur. Timely detection and trimester-specific surveillance may significantly enhance maternal and newborn outcomes in pregnancies complicated by subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH).
