Agriculture has been revolutionized by the fast development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which has led to increased accessibility to information, more participation of farmers, and improved performance of farms. The goal of this systematic literature review is to investigate the impact of ICTs on farmer participation and agricultural performance. An SLR was done using the PRISMA protocol to guide the selection process of appropriate research papers. Scopus served as the primary database, from which 225 relevant papers between the years 2015 and 2026 were collected. Out of these, 185 papers were included in the final analysis after employing the set inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results show that ICT plays an integral part in promoting farmer participation through extension services, communication, and knowledge sharing through the use of ICTs. Participating farmers are able to adopt modern agricultural practices easily, which enhances their productivity and overall farm management. The study highlights the fact that the influence of ICT on the performance of agriculture is very much related to the degree of involvement of farmers as well as the presence of enabling factors. The study concludes that in order to take full advantage of ICT in agriculture, a comprehensive approach that is inclusive and facilitated by proper policy support is needed.
