Abstract

Introduction: Laser technology has emerged as a minimally invasive modality in proctology and varicose surgery. The present study was conducted to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and clinical versatility of diode laser (1470 nm) application across five distinct domains.

Aim: The aim of our study was to determine the outcome of diode LASER 1470 nm in five stratified cohorts.

Methods: Fifty consecutive patients who underwent laser-based surgical intervention were enrolled in this prospective, single-center, observational cohort study. In this study, five stratified cohort groups were selected from the population based on disease and treatment administered from June 2024 to January 2026 at Subharti Medical College, Meerut. Surgery followed standardized procedures within each subset, with specific standardized energy parameters for the disease.

Result: All eight EVLA (Endovenous Laser Ablation ) procedures (five antegrade and three retrograde) achieved successful vein closure occurred in N=8 (100%) cases using the  1470 nm laser and in  three cases (37.5%), healing of venous ulcers in the leg was detected after laser treatment.

The VAAFT-first FiLaC (Video assisted Anal Fistula Treatment- Fistula tract Laser Closure ) subset achieved 100% primary healing in all N=20 cases. However, in one case, (1/20) 5 % recurrence occurred after 6 months.

Conclusions: This prospective 50-procedure cohort demonstrates that diode laser surgery (1470 nm) is feasible, safe, and effective across five distinct proctologic and varicose domains.
