EMPOWERING FUTURE LEADERS: EVALUATING LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OUTCOMES OF THE STUDENTS POLICE CADET PROJECT

Abstract

The Student Police Cadet project, or SPC Project, aims to build things like discipline and civic responsibility in school students, along with some personal growth stuff. Its effects on social behavior seem pretty clear to most people, but when it comes to boosting academic empowerment, that part has not gotten much real study yet. This study looks at how joining SPC might help with education, focusing on behaviors related to studying, the way students approach their work, and what they achieve, especially across junior, senior, and super senior levels.

Data came from 805 cadets who filled out a questionnaire on Google Forms. For the analysis, simple percentages helped profile the respondents demographics and their program involvement. Then exploratory factor   analysis

Dug into the key parts of academic excellence and empowerment.

The results show SPC has this broad impact, with five main factors standing out. Like leadership and civic responsibility, self-discipline plus resilience, motivation for academics and goal setting, emotional stability along with respect for the law, and finally academic performance tied to study habits. These together account for a good chunk of the variance, suggesting participation in SPC really does push forward both academic side and personal development.

It seems like the project goes beyond just civic training. It acts as a platform for academic empowerment too, helping students get more disciplined, build confidence, and think about their future in learning.
