Amino acid; Bran; Buckwheat; Farina; Quercetin; Rutin

In this study, five common buckwheats and nine tartary buckwheats grown at different locations were analyzed for the contents of rutin, quercetin, and amino acids by high-performance liquid chromatography and spectrophotometry. The rutin content was higher than quercetin in buckwheat seeds. Rutin content was in the range from 0.05 (0.05 g per 100 g dry seeds) to 1.35% of buckwheat seeds. ... more

Acute myocardial infarction; Cell apoptosis; Quercetin

To investigate the protective mechanism of quercetin on acute myocardial infarction (AMI) rats, an AMI rat model was established by ligating the left coronary anterior descending branch. The rats were randomly divided into the model group and low- and high-dose quercetin groups. The control group comprised sham-operated rats. The rats in the low- and high-dose quercetin groups were ... more

Acute lung injury; ICAM-1; MIP-2; Quercetin; Sepsis

This study aimed to explore the protective effect of quercetin on acute lung injury (ALI) in rats with sepsis and the related mechanism. Rats were administered different doses of quercetin intraperitoneally, and blood samples and lung tissue were collected at 24 h after treatment. Arterial blood gases, lung water content, protein content, and cell counts in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid ( ... more

The aim of this study was to identify the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the bovine chemokine receptor (CXCR1) gene and the resistance or susceptibility of cows to mastitis. The analysis of the CXCR1 polymorphism was carried out using polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis for six SNP mutations (c.+291C ... more

Differentially expressed genes; Duck; LPS; Spleen

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), the major component of the outer cell wall of Gram-negative bacteria, activates the immune system and threatens the health of livestock and poultry. However, little is known about the genes and pathways involved in the immune response of ducklings to LPS. To elucidate the genes involved in the response of 7-day-old duckling spleens treated with LPS, RNA from LPS- ... more

Acute lung injury; GABAAR; LPS; Oxidation stress

The objective of the present study was to investigate the role of γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABAAR) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in rats. Thirty-two male wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups. Rats in the GABA group were pretreated with LPS and GABA, while those in the bicuculline (BIC) group were pretreated with LPS and ... more
