Correlation between serum IL-16 and atopic dermatitis
This study aims to investigate the correlation between allergic sensitization of atopic dermatitis (AD) patients and their serum interleukin (IL)-16 levels. AD patients, healthy volunteers, and patients with psoriasis (N = 80, 35, 20, respectively) were tested for serum IL-16 and total and specific IgE levels by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, along with eosinophil counts. Serum allergen-specific IgE levels were determined, and skin-prick testing conducted in a subgroup of 45 AD patients.
Effect of NB-UVB on levels of MCP-1 and CCR6 mRNA in patients with psoriasis vulgaris
The aim of this study is to explore the effect of narrow band ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) on the chemokine receptor CCR6 mRNA levels in patients with psoriasis. Psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) values were recorded before and after the treatment with NB-UVB phototherapy of 30 psoriasis vulgaris patients. The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction method was used to detect the expression level of CCR6 mRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and compared with 30 healthy subjects.
Vascular endothelial growth factor gene polymorphisms and psoriasis susceptibility: a meta-analysis
The aim of this study was to explore whether vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) polymorphisms confer susceptibility to psoriasis. Meta-analyses were conducted to examine the associations between the +405 C/G, -460 C/T, -1154 A/G, and -2578 A/C polymorphisms of VEGF and psoriasis using allele contrast and recessive, dominant, and additive models. Seven studies on VEGF polymorphisms and psoriasis involving 1956 subjects (psoriasis patients 665, controls 1291) were included in this meta-analysis.
