Single nucleotide polymorphism in microRNAs (miRNA) may influence their target gene selection and regulation efficiency, leading to animal phenotypic variation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible effect of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the miRNA-1757 gene precursor region (pre-mir-1757) on economic-related traits in chicken. Genotyping was performed using Sequenom MassArray® iPLEX GOLD System. Association analysis was performed using SPSS19.0.

KRAS, also known as V-Ki-ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog, acts as an intracellular signal transducer. The oncogenic KRAS mutation is an essential step in the development of many types of human cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma. Here we aimed to investigate the relationship between KRAS rs712 polymorphisms and hepatocellular carcinoma susceptibility. Five-hundred-and-fourteen participants were enrolled in a case-control study (262 cases and 252 normal subjects).

Our study aimed to investigate the association between multidrug resistance (MDR1) gene polymorphisms and the response to imatinib (IM) in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). An electronic databases in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Wanfang, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and VIP were searched using combinations of keywords relating to MDR1 polymorphisms and the response to IM in CML. Studies retrieved from database searches were screened using stringent inclusion and exclusion criteria.

RUNX3 gene polymorphisms and haplotypes in Mexican patients with colorectal cancer

We analyzed a possible association between RUNX3 gene polymorphisms and haplotypes in Mexican patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Genomic DNA samples were obtained from the peripheral blood of 176 Mexican patients with CRC at diagnosis and from 195 individuals that formed the control group. The polymorphisms were detected by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. Association was estimated by odds ratio (OR). The haplotypes and linkage disequilibrium were established using the Arlequin v3.5 software.

In this study, we aimed to explore the associations between HLA-A\B\DRB1 polymorphisms and the risks of vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) or squamous cell hyperplasia of the vulva (SCHV) in Han Chinese women. We enrolled 76 Han Chinese women with VLS (Group A), 74 with SCHV (Group B), and 66 healthy women (control group) in this study. Polymerase chain reaction amplification with sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP) was used to determine HLA-A\B\DRB1 polymorphisms.

Graves’ disease (GD) is a common autoimmune disease mainly affecting the thyroid. However, the correlation between the development of GD and HSP70 alleles has not been reported in the Chinese population. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the association between HSP70 polymorphisms and GD in the Chinese population.

This study aimed to screen single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the chicken gap junction protein alpha 1 (GJA1) gene, and to investigate their association with five growth traits measured in 269 chickens encompassing Chinese indigenous Beijing-You (BJY) and commercial Cobb broiler (CB) populations. Four variants were detected in the chicken GJA1 gene, in which one synonymous mutation was located in an exon (C61223231T or c.-1110 C>T), two in an intron (A61229799C or c.5460 A>C, T61229928A or c.5589 T>A) and one in the promoter (A61230599C or c.
