Construction of a natural phage antibody library of human anaplastic thyroid carcinoma

J. M. Xi, Pang, H., Hu, X. L., and Wang, Z. J., Construction of a natural phage antibody library of human anaplastic thyroid carcinoma, vol. 14, pp. 8397-8406, 2015.

The objective of this study was to identify and construct a human natural phage single-chain antibody (scFv) library of human anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC) using phage display technology. Total RNA was extracted from lymphatic tissue near an ATC and used to amplify variable heavy chain (VH) and variable light chain (VL) fragments with added linker sequences using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

Selection of peptides for serological detection of equine infectious anemia

E. M. Santos, Cardoso, R., Souza, G. R. L., Goulart, L. R., Heinemann, M. B., Leite, R. C., and Reis, J. K. P., Selection of peptides for serological detection of equine infectious anemia, vol. 11, pp. 2182-2199, 2012.

Equine infectious anemia caused by equine infectious anemia virus is an important disease due to its high severity and incidence in animals. We used a phage display library to isolate peptides that can be considered potential markers for equine infectious anemia diagnosis. We selected peptides using IgG purified from a pool comprised of 20 sera from animals naturally infected with equine infectious anemia virus. The diagnostic potential of these peptides was investigated by ELISA, Western blot and dot blot with purified IgG and serum samples.

Construction of a human Fab phage display library from antibody repertoires of osteosarcoma patients

C. Dantas-Barbosa, Brígido, M. M., and Maranhão, A. Q., Construction of a human Fab phage display library from antibody repertoires of osteosarcoma patients, vol. 4, pp. 126-140, 2005.

Osteosarcoma is the commonest type of primary malignant bone tumor, frequently found in adolescents at sites of rapid bone growth. Despite current management protocols, up to half of the patients succumb to this disease. Moreover, there is no well-characterized molecular marker for diagnosis and prognosis. Since phage display methodology allows the selection of human antibody fragments with potential use in clinical applications, we applied this procedure to construct a recombinant Fab (antigen binding fragment) library from patients with osteosarcoma.
