H., Chen, Y. Y., He, Z., Zhou, Y., Gao, Y., Zhang, Q., and Tan, M. Q., MMP-9 genetic polymorphism may confer susceptibility to COPD, vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

Correlations between genetic polymorphisms of three matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) genes and susceptibility to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) were investigated. Relevant case-control studies were selected using rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria. The comprehensive Meta-analysis 2.0 software was used to conduct the statistical analysis. An odds ratio with 95% confidence intervals was applied to assess the correlation between genetic polymorphisms of MMPs and susceptibility to COPD. Twelve high-quality studies were selected for inclusion in this meta-analysis.

Resveratrol could reverse the expression of SIRT1 and MMP-1 in vitro

Intervertebral disc degeneration is the main cause of lumbago disease, in which the extracellular matrix structure and moisture in the nucleus pulposus is lost continuously. In this study, we aimed to detect differential expression of silence mating type information regulation 2 homolog 1 (SIRT1) and matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) in human intervertebral disc nucleus pulposus cells and to explore the effects of SIRT1 and MMP-1 on the development of the intervertebral disc degeneration.

High MMP-1, MMP-2, and MMP-9 protein levels in osteoarthritis

Our study examined the relationship between the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-1, MMP-2, and MMP-9 proteins and the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA). We employed rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria in computer-based bibliographic databases to extract published studies relevant to this investigation. The STATA 12.0 software was used for the statistical analyses. A total of 1408 studies were initially searched, and 10 studies with 458 OA patients and 295 healthy controls were included in this meta-analysis.
