Numerous studies regarding the association between the CYP1A1 MspI polymorphism and oral cancer risk in Asian populations have shown controversial results. To get a more precise estimation of this relationship, we conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis. PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Elsevier Science Direct, Web of Knowledge, the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP, and Wan Fang Med Online were searched. Pooled odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were calculated using fixed-effects or random-effects models.

Association between the XPG gene Asp1104His polymorphism and lung cancer risk

B. Zhou, Hu, X. M., Wu, G. Y., Zhou, B., Hu, X. M., and Wu, G. Y., Association between the XPG gene Asp1104His polymorphism and lung cancer risk, vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

It has been suggested that the xeroderma pigmentosum complementation group G (XPG) gene Asp1104His polymorphism is linked to susceptibility to lung cancer. However, the results from the published studies are contradictory rather than conclusive. With this meta-analysis, we aimed to achieve a better understanding of the effects of the XPG gene Asp1104His polymorphism on lung cancer risk. We identified six eligible studies from five publications that included a total of 2293 lung cancer patients and 2586 controls.

Meta-analysis of the IL-10 promoter polymorphisms and pediatric asthma susceptibility

Z. Y. Huang, Cheng, B. J., Wan, Y., Zhou, C., Huang, Z. Y., Cheng, B. J., Wan, Y., and Zhou, C., Meta-analysis of the IL-10 promoter polymorphisms and pediatric asthma susceptibility, vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

The results of previous epidemiological studies exploring the relationship between interleukin-10 (IL-10) promoter polymorphisms and susceptibility to pediatric asthma are not consistent. Therefore, we have performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to provide a more convincing conclusion. Odds ratios (OR) with their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to evaluate the strength of association between the IL-10 promoter polymorphisms and susceptibility to pediatric asthma. Publication bias was examined by Begg’s funnel plots and the Egger test.

M. Kuang, Xu, W., Cao, C. X., Shen, L. L., Chang, J., Zhang, X. L., Chen, J. F., Tang, C. J., Kuang, M., Xu, W., Cao, C. X., Shen, L. L., Chang, J., Zhang, X. L., Chen, J. F., and Tang, C. J., Glutathione S-transferase P1 rs1695 A>G polymorphism and breast cancer risk: evidence from a meta-analysis, vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most widespread cause of cancer-related deaths in women. Many published studies have assessed the association between the glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) rs1695 polymorphism and BC risk. However, the effect of the GSTP1 rs1695 polymorphism on BC risk has remained controversial. Therefore, this meta-analysis was conducted to obtain a comprehensive estimation of this association. A total of 20,615 cases and 20,481 controls from thirty-six case-control trials were extracted from an online literature survey.
