Effect of overexpression of PTEN on apoptosis of liver cancer cells

M. F. Li, Guan, H., Zhang, D. D., Li, M. F., Guan, H., and Zhang, D. D., Effect of overexpression of PTEN on apoptosis of liver cancer cells, vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

Liver cancer is a common malignant tumor associated with a short-survival period and high-mortality rate, and its prevalence in China is particularly high. This study aimed to investigate the effect of overexpressing the phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN) gene on liver cancer cell apoptosis and provide new insight into the treatment of this disease.

Effect of wilfortrine on human hepatic cancer HepG2 cell proliferation potential in vitro

Liver cancers are characterized by high morbidity and mortality owing to few effective drugs for its treatment. Wilfortrine has several pharmacological effects, including an inhibitory effect on liver cancer cell proliferation. However, whether wilfortrine can induce liver cancer cell apoptosis has not been elucidated. We investigated the role of wilfortrine on liver cancer cell HepG2 apoptosis and analyzed its possible mechanisms to provide a theoretical basis for clinical analysis of liver cancer pathogenesis. The liver cancer cell line HepG2 was treated with 40 mM wilfortrine for 48 h.

TGF-β1 polymorphisms and familial aggregation of liver cancer in Guangxi, China

P. Q. Wan, Wu, J. Z., Huang, L. Y., Wu, J. L., Wei, Y. H., and Ning, Q. Y., TGF-β1 polymorphisms and familial aggregation of liver cancer in Guangxi, China, vol. 14, pp. 8147-8160, 2015.

The goal of present study was to investigate the relationship between polymorphisms of TGF-β1 and familial aggregation of liver cancer in Guangxi Zhuang, Han, and Yao populations. We conducted a population-based case-control family study of liver cancer in Guanxi, China. A total of 214 individuals from 37 case families were surveyed for polymorphisms in TGF-β1. We genotyped six functional TGF-β1 polymorphisms: rs1800469, rs2241715, rs2241716, rs11466345, rs8105161, and rs747857.
