Q., Molecular characterization of the myosatin gene and the effect of fasting on its expression in Chinese perch (Siniperca chuatsi), vol. 15, p. -, 2016.

Myostatin (MSTN) is an important member of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily and is a muscle growth inhibitor. In the present study, we cloned the Chinese perch MSTN cDNA sequence and analyzed its expression patterns under various conditions. The MSTN full cDNA sequence was 3347 bp long, including an open-reading frame of 1131 bp, which encoded 376 amino acids.

Cloning and sequence analysis of the coding sequence of β-actin cDNA from the Chinese alligator and suitable internal reference primers from the β-actin gene

H. N. Zhu, Zhang, S. Z., Zhou, Y. K., Wang, C. L., and Wu, X. B., Cloning and sequence analysis of the coding sequence of β-actin cDNA from the Chinese alligator and suitable internal reference primers from the β-actin gene, vol. 14, pp. 12159-12167, 2015.

β-Actin is an essential component of the cytoskeleton and is stably expressed in various tissues of animals, thus, it is commonly used as an internal reference for gene expression studies. In this study, a 1731-bp fragment of β-actin cDNA from Alligator sinensis was obtained using the homology cloning technique. Sequence analysis showed that this fragment contained the complete coding sequence of the β-actin gene (1128 bp), encoding 375 amino acids.

Characteristics of Cyclin B and its potential role in regulating oogenesis in the red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus)

L. M. Wang, Lv, W. W., Zuo, D., Dong, Z. J., and Zhao, Y. L., Characteristics of Cyclin B and its potential role in regulating oogenesis in the red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus), vol. 14, pp. 10786-10798, 2015.

Cyclin B is a regulatory subunit of maturation-promoting factor (MPF), which has a key role in the induction of meiotic maturation of oocytes. MPF has been studied in a wide variety of animal species; however, its expression in crustaceans is poorly characterized. In this study, the complete cDNA sequence of Cyclin B was cloned from the red claw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus, and its spatiotemporal expression profiles were analyzed. Cyclin B cDNA (1779 bp) encoded a 401 amino acid protein with a calculated molecular weight of 45.1 kDa.
